About

This is blog contains anything that I have deemed appropriate for posting on it which means that it may cover many subjects. Well, it is an on going experiment with blogging generally as well as an exercise that will help in creating content, useful content that is.

I am a physically handicap (proud of that fact) software developer with a bias towards web development. My programming expertise cover multiple programming languages, including PHP, Java, C#, JavaScript and if I must Visual Basic 6.0 and yes Visual Basic .NET as well.

I am also interested in database design, implementation and administration. At the moment, my hands on experience cover the following database products: Microsoft Access, Microsoft SQL Server and MySQL. Theoretical understanding of databases and its uses makes it possible to apply these skills and experiences in new circumstances that may include new database products.

My key focus at the moment is in application architecture and design with an intention of producing designs that can be adopted to new and emerging requirements as time passes. More importantly perhaps is also integration of technologies in a such a manner that they work together and contribute a greater value than each technology can produce on its own (the sum of the parts is greater than the individual parts).

    Hi Imma,

I am not sure if this is the right place to seek help, if not pardon me for posting this here, but i feel u can guide me. I completed by BS in computer science in 2005 but after that i couldn’t take up a job till now due some personal reasons. Now that i am ready to take up a job. I applied to some companies here in India to work as a web developer, but all of them got rejected saying u got a big gap from the time you finished your education. Its true that i have become a little outdated as far as my skill set is considered. I am very keen on pursuing a career as a web developer. So could u please guide to upgrade my skill set to the current industry requirements (which i am completely unaware of)…like the languages, technologies, or any kind of certifications if required. How can i get started?? If you could help me … it will be of great help.. continuous reject at interviews is making me feel very low…just need some help very badly….Hoping to get a reply.

    Thanks

    Deepa
